Interview, Image, and Video Inquiries for Walking & Talking/Karl Cook

Introduction
These guidelines are designed to streamline the process for media outlets requesting interviews, images, or videos with Walking & Talking/Karl Cook while ensuring a positive experience for both parties. By working together, we can ensure that media interactions are a positive experience for everyone involved. We appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines.


Requesting an Interview/Images/Videos
All interview, image, and video requests must be submitted via email to media@walkingandtalking.com and include the following information:

  • Outlet name and contact information (reporter's name, company name, email, phone number, website, etc.).
  • For interviews, please provide at least three suggested dates and times, the interview format (phone, video call, in-person, social media, etc.), and a brief description of the interview and topic(s) to be discussed.
  • For image/video content: Intended use of the images (e.g., article, promotional material, social media, etc.), specific images required or a description of the type of images needed, and the deadline for when the images are required.

Walking & Talking/Karl Cook will review all requests and respond within 3-5 business days. Please note that our office hours for responding are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. PST.


Approval and Usage

  • Walking & Talking/Karl Cook will review all interview, image, and video requests and respond within 3-5 business days.
  • Approved images/videos with specified usage rights will be provided, and a usage contract must be signed and returned before content is provided via WeTransfer
  • Interviews, images, and videos must be used solely for the purpose stated in the request. Any other use requires additional written permission.
  • Interviews, images, and videos must also follow our brand guidelines


Availability
Walking & Talking/Karl Cook's availability for interviews and content distribution will vary depending on training schedules, competition dates, travel, and other commitments.

We encourage you to submit requests well in advance (at least 2-3 weeks) to allow for proper scheduling & distribution. If 2-3 weeks' notice is not possible, we will try to accommodate the request, but there are no guarantees.

Attribution
Walking & Talking/Karl Cook must be properly credited for publishing or distributing the interviews, images, or videos.

Alterations

  • Images & videos may not be altered or edited without written consent, except for standard cropping or resizing.


Delivery

  • All content requested will be sent via Wetransfer, expire within 7 days of delivery, and will not be shared with anyone or any company not listed on the original request form.


Denial of Requests

  • Walking & Talking/Karl Cook reserves the right to decline any interview, image, or video request that does not align with our brand values or best interests.


Interview Logistics
Once an interview is confirmed, Walking & Talking/Karl Cook will provide the media outlet with preferred contact information and any specific interview instructions. The duration of the interview or particular topics may be limited. Walking & Talking/Karl Cook will communicate these limitations to the media outlet in advance. Media outlets are responsible for securing recording equipment and arranging interview logistics (e.g., scheduling a conference call, travel, etc.).


Post-Interview
Following the interview, Walking & Talking/Karl Cook appreciates the media outlet providing us with a copy of the final piece (article, video clip, etc.) for our records. Although Walking & Talking/Karl Cook is not obligated to promote the interview on personal social media channels, it reserves the right to do so if the media outlet provides the appropriate links and tags.
